Welcome to the Academic Affairs website

A message from James Calvin, Vice President for Academic Affairs

Fall 2015

Dear friends and colleagues,

Welcome to the Academic Affairs website at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). KAUST is a global, research-based university supporting exceptional faculty and graduate students. Our mission is to advance science and technology through a distinctive and collaborative environment integrating research and education at the master's and doctoral levels.

Within KAUST, the Academic Affairs organization is dedicated to supporting faculty and students in all academic aspects of their pursuit of knowledge. We are organized into six major units, each aimed at providing a distinct set of services for the University. Whether you are applying to graduate school, researching student visitation programs, interested in open faculty positions, searching for on-campus e-resources, curious about the keynote speakers for the next Enrichment Program or simply looking to order a transcript, our people can help. This website should direct you to the group that can support your request.

Graduate Affairs, led by Dean Brian Moran, oversees all aspects of student life from admissions to alumni affairs. The Office of the Registrar is the custodian of student academic records and coordinates our schedule of course offerings. The Library functions as the home of our digital and hardcopy collections. Our Office of Enrichment provides programming for our fall, winter and spring enrichment events; these encourage KAUST community members to expand their horizons beyond traditional academic domains. Our Office of International Programs supports joint and dual degree programs, visiting student research programs, inter-institutional visits and other inter-institutional agreements. Finally, our Office of Faculty Affairs supports a variety of faculty processes, including recruitment, promotions and annual reviews.

In reality, each of these organizations does much more than I can describe here. I encourage you to explore each group's website to gain a better understanding of our offerings.

Regards,

James A. Calvin

Vice President for Academic Affairs
